XWD has enabled Severe Coverage Mode due to a likely SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK in the Kansas region.
The SPC has issued a MODERATE risk (4/5) of severe weather today. Wind will be the primary threat with a 45% hatched risk, as well as a 30% hatched area for hail. Tornadoes won’t be the main concern but they are still possible. Storm development will start to initiate around midday and will continue into the early overnight hours.
